Don Orlando is a handsome German Oldenburg gelding by Dubarry (Don Frederico) out of our own Beaujoulais (Le Santo/War Secretary). He was honored as a Preumium foal at his inspection in December. Don Orlando is named for a very special friend of ours that passed several years ago after a mighty fight with cancer. The night he left us he told us he would be watching us through the horse’s eyes. He thought that horses were magnificent creatures and enjoyed photographing them for us. I waited several years for the “right” colt to be born whose name would start with a “D” so I could name him after our beloved Orlando. Don Orlando born on 4/20/20 is nick named Doobie by Gary and I think Orlando would chuckle. Destined for greatness this young man can really strut his stuff.
